The Syrian embassy in Moscow has replaced the Assad regime’s flag with the opposition’s green-white-black tricolor flag following the rebel forces’ takeover. Israel has conducted strikes on suspected chemical weapons and long-range weapons sites in Syria to protect its security interests. Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz has ordered full control of the buffer zone with Syria in the Golan Heights. The U.S. Air Force has carried out over 75 strikes on ISIS targets in Syria to prevent the group from taking advantage of the situation. General Michael Erik Kurilla has warned that the U.S. will not allow ISIS to reconstitute and will take action against any groups supporting them. Assad has fled the country after rebel groups took control of Damascus and other regions in Syria.
