Editorial Letter to the Delaware County Daily Times

Rhoda O’Donnell, a long-time resident of Delaware County, is running for a position on the Wallingford-Swarthmore School District school board. Inspired by her son’s gratitude for the diverse experiences she provided him despite limited resources, O’Donnell is committed to ensuring all children in the district have positive and enriching school experiences.

Having raised children who had very different experiences in the public school system, O’Donnell believes that all students and families should have the opportunity for a positive educational experience. She is running for the school board to help create a learning environment that values every student’s uniqueness and promotes growth and learning.

O’Donnell is also concerned about the current state of politics in school boards and believes that the focus should be on putting children and families first, rather than political agendas. She hopes to steer the district back to a place where the community’s diversity and unique experiences are respected and considered in all decisions.

By volunteering to run for a position on the school board, O’Donnell is taking the first step in making a positive change in the district. She hopes that the community will join her in prioritizing the well-being and education of children over politics, and working together to create a welcoming and inclusive school environment for all students.
