The Office of Animal Welfare and Humane Animal Partners have teamed up to offer free spay and neuter services for low-income pet owners in Delaware. The program, known as Fixed and Fab, also includes microchips, rabies, and distemper vaccinations. Pet owners receiving public assistance are eligible for these services, with current openings in Stanton/Christiana, Wilmington, and Rehoboth Beach. Appointment slots vary by location and procedure, including cat and dog spays and neuters.
In Rehoboth Beach, there are openings for 7 cat spays and 17 cat neuters. In Stanton/Christiana on February 4, there are slots available for 4 cat spays, 10 cat neuters, 2 small dog neuters, and 4 large dog neuters. In Wilmington on February 6, there are openings for 3 cat spays, 4 cat neuters, and 2 small dog spays.
Pet owners can schedule an appointment by calling their preferred location or emailing info@hapde.org and mentioning “Spay Day” to secure a spot. This program aims to provide essential veterinary services to pets in need and promote responsible pet ownership in the community.
