Baker Hughes, a US energy technology company, has secured an order to provide gas compression trains and propane compressors for the third expansion phase of Aramco’s Jafurah gas field in Saudi Arabia. The order, awarded by Tecnicas Reunidas in the fourth quarter of 2024, involves supplying state-of-the-art electric motor driven compression solutions. Ganesh Ramaswamy, executive vice president of Industrial & Energy Technology at Baker Hughes, highlighted the importance of gas as a reliable, abundant, and lower-carbon energy source. The advanced gas compression technology will enable efficient and reliable production from the Jafurah field, supporting Aramco’s vision and contributing to Saudi Arabia’s energy development. This order adds to Baker Hughes’ long-standing partnership with Aramco, including previous supply of compression solutions for gas plants and the Master Gas System project. Baker Hughes will leverage its recently expanded Damman Center in Dammam, Saudi Arabia to fulfill this order. The company’s expertise and technology will play a crucial role in enhancing the gas production capabilities at the Jafurah field.
