The Agenda for January 30, 2025: Blue Delaware

The mini-Bond bill, Senate Bill 50, is set to be voted on in the House today, marking a significant milestone in the legislative agenda. Despite hopes for House Bill 6 to make it to the Senate agenda after passing the House earlier in the week, it remains in committee. The General Assembly will go into recess until March 11 for Joint Finance Committee hearings following today’s session.

On the House agenda for today are a number of resolutions and tributes, including recognizing Rare Disease Day, Energy Poverty Awareness, Haitian Independence Day, and others. The House will reconvene at 2:00 PM to address these items before the JFC recess.

In the Senate, legislation to amend laws related to affordable housing, trade names registration, and the board of plumbing, heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration examiners will be discussed when the Senate reconvenes at 2:00 PM.

Among the bills being considered in the House are measures to combat human trafficking, improve public education profiles, and address controlled substance issues. In the Senate, legislation related to pensions for the state judiciary and a cost-benefit study on net metering for solar customers will be reviewed.

Overall, the House and Senate are focusing on a variety of important issues as they meet today to advance key legislation before going into recess for the Joint Finance Committee hearings.
