Delaware State Police Homicide Detectives have identified Daveon Showell as the suspect in a 2023 Bridgeville homicide. Showell, a 20-year-old from Bridgeville, Delaware, is currently in custody in Virginia awaiting extradition to Delaware. The incident took place on May 14, 2023, when troopers responded to a shooting on Mill Park Drive and found 23-year-old Orbby Holder suffering from gunshot wounds. Holder later died at the hospital, prompting the Homicide Unit to take over the investigation. Through their work, detectives were able to identify Showell as the suspect, leading to his indictment by a Grand Jury on January 27, 2025. Showell was arrested in Accomack, Virginia on February 3, 2025, and will be charged with Murder 1st Degree, Possession of a Firearm During a Felony, and Possession of a Firearm by a Person Prohibited upon extradition to Delaware.
