Members of the Garden Club of Springfield recently visited Sterling Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center to socialize with residents and help them create Valentine centerpieces. The residents expressed gratitude for the Christmas cards they received from the club. The centerpieces, featuring pink carnations and Valentine decorations, brought joy to the residents. The next Garden Club meeting will feature a presentation on “Critters in the Garden” by Debbie Ziegler.

In other news, St. James Episcopal Church is hosting a bus trip to see the show “Noah” at the Sight & Sound Theater in Lancaster. The trip includes transportation, lunch, and a show ticket. The Delaware County Health Department has launched the 2025 Fitness & Me Program, an eight-week healthy weight management challenge. Participants will have access to fitness activities, events, and a supportive community to help them achieve their health goals.

Newtown Square in Bloom announced AJ Iacuzio as the new coordinator of the hanging basket program. Iacuzio will lead efforts to raise funds and coordinate volunteer activities for the program, which beautifies the township’s streets with floral arrangements. Residents can donate and sign up to volunteer on the Newtown Square in Bloom website. Monthly meetings are open to residents who want to get involved in community beautification efforts.
