Four crew members were safely rescued from a tugboat that caught fire in the Delaware River south of the Delaware Memorial Bridge on Tuesday morning. The Coast Guard received a distress call at 9:26 a.m. and Good Samaritans helped bring the crew members to safety. Coast Guard crews from Philadelphia and a helicopter crew from Air Station Atlantic City were deployed to assist in the rescue. Partner agencies from neighboring counties also responded to the incident. As of Tuesday afternoon, the fire had been extinguished and the vessel was being towed. The cause of the fire is still under investigation. No injuries were reported in the incident.
