Clinton Portis Joins DeSean Jackson’s Team at Delaware State


Former NFL player Clinton Portis has been named as the running backs coach and run game coordinator for DeSean Jackson’s coaching staff at Delaware State for the upcoming 2025 season. Portis, a former Denver second-round pick in 2002, had a successful career in the NFL where he was named offensive rookie of the year and played for the Washington team until 2010. Throughout his career, Portis ran for 9,923 yards and scored 75 touchdowns while also catching 247 passes for 2,018 yards and five touchdowns.

This coaching position at Delaware State marks Portis’ first venture into coaching, bringing his wealth of experience from his NFL career to help develop and mentor young players at the college level.
