Chrissi Rawak, the current Athletic Director at the University of Delaware, has been appointed as the President and CEO of USA Swimming. Rawak, who swam at the University of Michigan and previously served as an Associate Athletic Director at the school, became Delaware’s first female Athletic Director in 2016. During her tenure at Delaware, Rawak oversaw significant changes, including the largest capital campaigns in school history and the transition of the football program to a higher classification.
Rawak’s departure comes at a crucial time for Delaware, as the school moves to Conference USA in FBS. This transition requires fundraising efforts to meet Title IX requirements for additional scholarships. Under Rawak’s leadership, Delaware experienced success on the field, winning numerous conference championships and individual titles. Rawak also announced the establishment of a Women’s Ice Hockey program.
Despite some controversy surrounding facility rental prices, Rawak’s love for swimming has remained evident throughout her career. She will now lead USA Swimming into the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics. Jordan Skolnick, the Senior Deputy Athletic Director at Delaware, will serve as the Interim AD.
