The Sturgeon Bay Common Council has approved a bid from the David Tenor Corporation for the reconstruction of Delaware Street from 3rd to 6th avenues. The bid of $549,627.10 was the lowest of nine received by the city. The project will also include utility and excavation work. Senior Engineering Technician Brian Spetz stated that the city’s portion of the project costs around $106,000, with the rest funded by Sturgeon Bay Utilities for sewer and water work. Weather permitting, the project is expected to begin in April. Mayor David Ward expressed satisfaction with the competitive bidding process. Another section of Delaware Street will also be worked on this year, with funding from a state grant. Overall, the city is planning capital roadway improvement projects for the year totaling around $1.8 million. This project is part of the city’s ongoing efforts to improve its infrastructure and services for residents.
