Top Seeds in Men’s Bracket Awarded to Auburn, Duke, Houston, and Florida

The Auburn Tigers were selected as the No. 1 overall seed in the NCAA men’s basketball tournament. Joining them as No. 1 seeds are the Duke Blue Devils, the Houston Cougars, and the Florida Gators. The tournament will begin with the First Four on Tuesday and the opening round on Thursday. St. John’s Red Storm, led by coach Rick Pitino, are a notable two-seed team to watch. Duke has a question mark with star forward Cooper Flagg’s injury but coach Jon Scheyer is optimistic he will be ready for the first round. The North Carolina Tar Heels were a controversial pick for the First Four. Other bubble teams that made it into the tournament include Texas, Xavier, and San Diego State. The SEC has a record 14 teams in the tournament, including the Missouri Tigers who had a strong season after going winless in conference play the previous year. The tournament will run until March 23 with the Final Four taking place in San Antonio on April 5 and 7. This year, the NCAA men’s record for most bids by a single conference is held by the SEC.
