IBM has announced that its Storage Scale platform will now support CAS, responding to queries using extracted and augmented data to speed up communications between GPUs and storage. This will be enabled by Nvidia BlueField-3 DPUs and Spectrum-X networking. The upcoming release of IBM Fusion in the second quarter of this year will embed CAS, simplifying the deployment and management of AI applications while working with Storage Scale to support high-performance storage for AI workloads.
Furthermore, IBM has introduced Nvidia H200 instances in its IBM Cloud environment, offering increased memory bandwidth and capacity for handling larger datasets, accelerating the training of AI models, and executing complex simulations with high energy efficiency and low total cost of ownership. This will enable cloud customers to process large volumes of data in real-time, enhancing predictive analytics and data-driven decision-making.
In addition, IBM Consulting is integrating Nvidia Blueprint into its AI Integration Service, providing customers with support for developing, building, and running AI environments. Nvidia Blueprints offer pre-validated, optimized, and documented reference architectures to simplify and accelerate the deployment of complex AI and data center infrastructure. The AI Integration service already supports various third-party systems, including Oracle, Salesforce, SAP, and ServiceNow environments.
These updates from IBM and Nvidia aim to enhance the performance and capabilities of AI applications, providing customers with advanced tools and technologies to drive innovation in their businesses.
