Sean Combs’s Racketeering Claims Dismissed in Sexual Assault Lawsuit Against Producer

A federal judge in New York dismissed racketeering allegations against Sean Combs in a $30 million sexual assault and harassment lawsuit brought by producer Rodney Jones. The lawsuit accused Combs of unwanted sexual contact, forcing Jones to hire sex workers, and participating in sex acts. The judge dismissed the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) Act allegation against Combs and others, citing lack of evidence of injury to business or property. Other allegations, including infliction of emotional distress and breach of contract, were also dismissed. However, allegations of sex trafficking could proceed. The judge criticized Jones’ lawyer for inappropriate conduct and warned of potential sanctions. Combs, who is detained awaiting trial in Brooklyn, has pleaded not guilty and denied wrongdoing in numerous civil lawsuits. His trial is scheduled to begin in May. Combs and his former chief of staff, Kristina Khorram, who has been named in other sexual assault lawsuits, have denied the allegations against them. Khorram stated that the accusations are causing irreparable damage to her reputation and emotional well-being and denied any involvement in sexual assault or drugging anyone. Combs’ representatives did not provide a comment on the dismissal of the racketeering allegations.
