Suspect arrested for arson in Delaware house fire: Authorities – NBC10 Philadelphia

In a shocking incident that took place earlier this month, a 64-year-old man has been arrested and charged with setting fire to a house in Delaware. The suspect, Karl Bryfogle of Harrington, Delaware, was apprehended in connection with a house fire that occurred on April 8, 2025, on Fairground Road in Harrington. The fire, which completely engulfed the unoccupied residence, resulted in no injuries but caused an estimated $200,000 in damages.

Authorities from the Delaware State Fire Marshal’s Office were able to determine that the fire was intentionally set inside the house. Following an investigation, Bryfogle was identified as the individual responsible for the arson. He has since been charged with second-degree arson and second-degree burglary and is currently being held at the Sussex Correctional Institution on a $10,000 bond. The swift action of the responding fire departments prevented further damage but has left the community shaken by this senseless act of destruction.
