The iconic B-29 “DOC” bomber, one of only two remaining airworthy B-29 Superfortress bombers in the world, will be visiting Wilmington, Delaware, and New Castle Airport from May 12-14, 2025, as part of its History Restored Tour. The historic aircraft will be on display for public viewing and will offer ground and cockpit tours. Hosted by flyADVANCED Aviation Group, the tour stop in Wilmington is the second of a 47-day tour that will include stops in eight cities. The B-29 “DOC” was one of 1,644 B-29 bombers built by Boeing during World War II. While at New Castle Airport, the aircraft will be available for Flight Experience rides, with tickets on sale at www.b29doc.com/rides. An air show will also be announced in the Wilmington region a few days later for additional viewing opportunities. Don’t miss the chance to see this historic piece of aviation come to life in Wilmington.
