Pitching Duel Results in Eagles’ 1-0 Victory over Delaware State

North Carolina Central’s softball team secured a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Delaware State in the final game of their MEAC series. The game’s only run came in the sixth inning when Makiya Graves’ single combined with a Delaware State error allowed Kia Borum to score. Jaden Davis pitched a stellar game for NCCU, throwing a two-hitter shutout with eight strikeouts. Despite Delaware State threatening in the seventh inning, Davis shut down the Hornets with back-to-back strikeouts to secure the win. Graves finished the day with two hits and one RBI, while Borum scored the lone run for the Eagles. With this win, NCCU improved to 11-30 overall and 8-9 in MEAC play.

The Eagles will travel to Appalachian State for a non-conference game on Tuesday as they head into the final week of the regular season. NCCU fans can stay updated on all the latest athletic news by visiting NCCUEaglePride.com or downloading the NCCU Eagles Athletics app.
