Scotland’s annual Corgi Derby took place at Musselburgh Racecourse to celebrate Queen Elizabeth II’s 70 years on the throne. The race featured 16 corgis dressed in colorful sweaters racing over a 230-foot track. Juno, a four-year-old corgi, emerged as the winner by overtaking last year’s champion, Rodney, in the final stretch. The event pays tribute to the late monarch, who was a passionate corgi lover and owned nearly 30 of the breed, as well as some corgi-dachshund crosses known as dorgis. Attendees enjoyed watching these fast canines with short legs compete for glory in a fun-filled and lighthearted atmosphere. Juno’s victory captured the excitement of the day and showcased the unique talents of these beloved royal pets.
