Teresa Borrenpohl is seeking $5 million in damages after being forcibly dragged out of a Republican town hall in Idaho in February. A notice of tort claim was filed, alleging that Kootenai County Sheriff Robert Norris and a private security firm violated her constitutional rights. Six men, including Norris, were charged with crimes connected to the incident. Borrenpohl was accused of disrupting the town hall by shouting down legislators with insults and was eventually asked to leave. Video shows Norris instructing men in black to remove her from the event. Coeur d’Alene Police recommended revoking the security company’s license for violating city ordinances. Borrenpohl expressed shock at having her First Amendment rights taken away in such a violent manner. She plans to make her voice heard on the matter when the time is appropriate.
