Hofstra Suffers Loss to Delaware in CAA Series Finale

Newark, DE – Hofstra baseball faced a disappointing 16-6 defeat against Delaware on Sunday, marking the end of a three-game Coastal Athletic Association series. The setback allowed the Blue Hens to secure a 2-1 series victory, improving their record to 24-18 overall and 10-8 in the CAA, while Hofstra fell to 14-30 and 4-14 in the conference.

The Pride started strong, taking a 3-0 lead in the first inning, fueled by Luke Masiuk’s RBI single and a bases-loaded hit by pitch. However, Delaware quickly responded, tying the game in the second inning. Sean Lane put Hofstra ahead again with a solo home run in the third, but the Blue Hens surged ahead, scoring 12 unanswered runs to take control.

Aaron Graeber and Andrew Amato each hit solo home runs for Delaware, with Amato finishing the day with three hits and five RBIs. Hofstra managed two additional runs late in the game, with Michael Craig contributing an RBI single.

Hofstra is set to play next against Seton Hall on Wednesday at 4 PM. Noteworthy moments included Nick Gallello earning his first career hit.
