Positioned at the start of the egg packing plant’s workflow, CracklessEgg captures critical data during transit. It records "events" such as bumps or vibrations that may lead to cracks or breakage. The unit’s heat- and water-resistant design, combined with a balanced weight to simulate a real egg, makes it an innovative solution for producers. It operates on rechargeable power, gathering data for up to eight hours.

Producers can access the collected data through a mobile app that visualizes impact levels using a color-coded graph. This feature allows users to analyze trends over time and implement equipment maintenance schedules tailored to specific operational needs. The app also enables adjustments to the severity thresholds for impact events, ensuring optimal monitoring.

Beyond reducing product loss, the CracklessEgg technology addresses significant food safety concerns. Undetected micro-fractures during processing may harbor bacteria, such as Salmonella. Even if the egg appears intact, these cracks can compromise food safety if the bacteria spread during handling.

By integrating CracklessEgg into their operations, producers can enhance both the integrity of their product and the safety of their processing environment, ultimately benefiting the wider food supply chain.
