BUIES CREEK, N.C. – In a thrilling semifinal match, Elon University clinched a spot in the CAA Championship by edging out top-seeded Delaware, 3-2. This marks just the third time in program history that the Phoenix have reached the championship game.

The matchup showcased standout performances, particularly from senior third baseman Allee Seering, who went 2-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored. Gabi Schaal also shone bright, delivering a pivotal two-run double that helped Elon secure a 2-0 lead in the fourth inning. Pitcher Meredith Wells held her own by throwing five solid innings and striking out three, allowing no earned runs during her outing.

Delaware fought back in the sixth inning, narrowing the gap to 3-2, but reliever Anna Dew stepped in, retiring the side in the seventh to seal the victory for the Phoenix.

Elon (30-19) will face Campbell (37-18) in the championship game at 12 p.m. on Saturday. This rematch follows Campbell’s earlier victory over Elon in the tournament, setting the stage for a highly anticipated showdown. Fans can catch the action live on FloCollege.
