From Stripper to Spiritual Guide: Ashley Edelman’s Journey of Transformation
Ashley Edelman, a former male stripper, has shared his inspiring journey from a tumultuous, drug-fueled lifestyle to one dedicated to peace and meditation. Originally from Australia, Edelman moved to Cornwall, England, where he took a job as a stripper. Despite initial success and family approval, he soon succumbed to the seductive trappings of fame, including bodybuilding and substance abuse.
"I had been in the Army since I was 17 and always struggled with confidence," he recounted. "Drinking masked my social anxiety.” As his career soared, so did his reliance on drugs and rampant partying. However, after hitting rock bottom in 2018, Edelman left the adult industry, feeling disconnected from his true self.
After a brief return to stripping following the end of his marriage, he realized he was compromising his integrity. Seeking a deeper understanding of himself, Edelman delved into personal development, breathwork, and spirituality, ultimately finding himself at iMONASTERY in Chiang Mai, Thailand. There, he embraced monastic life, waking daily at 4 a.m. for meditation and chores, and had transformative spiritual experiences.
Upon leaving the monastery, a series of coincidences pushed him to relocate to Dubai. Now, he guides others towards self-awareness, offering breathwork sessions and coaching. With a growing following of over 147,000 on Instagram, Edelman shares his story to foster hope and encourage transformation.
“I used to live a life most men dreamed of,” he reflects. “Now, I live a life rooted in service.” Committed to helping others navigate their struggles, he plans to return to Thailand annually, driven by the mission to uplift those around him.
