Street Racing Causes Fatal Crash in Texas, Resulting in the Deaths of 4 Family Members – Charges Brought Against Drivers

Two men in Texas are facing charges after allegedly racing sports cars and causing a fiery crash that killed four members of a family in Grand Prairie, a suburb of Dallas. The crash occurred when a red Dodge Charger and a white Dodge Charger Daytona were racing and collided with a Chevrolet Traverse. Three occupants in the Traverse were pronounced dead on the scene, while a fourth later died at the hospital and a fifth was in critical condition. The driver of the white Charger fled the scene.

The deceased family members were identified as Jessie and Lorena Rosales, along with their children Stephanie and Angel. Another child survived but was in critical condition. The driver of the red Charger, Jaime Mesa, was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries and is facing multiple charges including racing on a highway causing death. The driver of the white Charger, Anthony Morales, was arrested on similar charges.

Witnesses described the aftermath of the collision, with one car flipped on its side and engulfed in flames. Street racing has become a growing issue in the area, with residents noting specific locations where it frequently occurs. One resident expressed frustration and devastation over the incident, emphasizing the danger and impact of such reckless behavior.

The crash is still under investigation, and it was not clear if Mesa or Morales had legal representation. The community has been shaken by the tragic event and is calling for accountability and an end to dangerous street racing.
