Harlem Township’s Annual Festival is Set for Saturday

The annual Harlem Township Day Summer Festival will take place on Saturday, August 17, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Harlem Township Community Park in Galena. The event will feature two stages of music, performances by the Curtain Players, strolling entertainers, arts and craft vendors, food trucks, bounce houses, obstacle courses, carnival games, and more. Admission and parking are free for all attendees.

In addition to the festival, the park also hosts the township’s Farmers Markets on Thursdays, with various vendors and food trucks present. The Harlem Township Board of Zoning Appeals has been busy with meetings discussing permits, zoning issues, and property management in the township.

The Zoning Commission has also been active, approving rezoning applications, discussing future plans, and reviewing amendments to the zoning resolution. Future annexation and development plans were presented by Crossroads Community Planning, but some discussions were postponed for further review.

The Zoning Commission, consisting of various members and alternates, along with Zoning Inspector Mike Cannon and Zoning Administrative Assistant Valerie Hamill, meets regularly at the Harlem Township Fire Station. For more information and updates on the township’s activities, interested individuals can visit their website or follow them on Facebook.

For media inquiries and coverage of events in eastern Delaware County and surrounding areas, Assistant Editor Gary Budzak can be reached at 740-413-0906.
