Capital One Financial and Delaware State University have come together to launch Innovation Venture, a national student pitch competition focusing on agriculture and technology. The event, held at DSU’s Memorial Hall Gymnasium, showcased student-developed AgriTech solutions and featured panel discussions and fireside chats with notable speakers such as Daymond John and James Lindsay.
Delaware leaders including Gov. Matt Meyer and U.S. Sen. Lisa Blunt Rochester also made appearances at the event, emphasizing the importance of investing in the future of agriculture and technology sectors. Secretary of Agriculture Donald Clifton stressed the significance of innovation in modern agriculture.
This initiative is an expansion of Capital One and DSU’s partnership, which includes a donation of a 35,000-square-foot facility in Wilmington and funding for student programs and mentorship initiatives. The event aims to support HBCU students and local youth in their endeavors to revolutionize agriculture and technology industries.
